It’s Snowing – Innit Pretty?

The Old Palace, Bromley Civic Centre, Winter 2003 (c) Neil Reddin

I suppose I could do the easy post and complain about how the country grinds to a halt when it snows, but then it would inevitably have to end on the note of “in Canada/Scandinavia/the Alps things don’t stop”.

Trouble is, in Scandinavia at least, things do stop when it snows heavily. I have been over there when the power lines have come down, and a friend making a four hour trip from Gothenburg took twelve. The difference is, the Scandinavians accept that it’s just the weather, they fix the power lines, open up the roads and get on with it.

I guess we do complaining much better than everyone else, though. After all, we’ve plenty to moan about: I blame Gordon Brown.

Ah, there we are. Back on track.

(In case you were wondering, the photo is of the Old Palace at Bromley Civic Centre, and was actually taken in 2003. Innit pretty?)
